We house the Community Youth Center in the lower level of our church. This is a dedicated space for and by the youth of Lamoille County. Our current programs are listed below. The Center is also available to community partners who serve youth.

After-school program

Youth Rocks is the after-school program for youth in middle school and high school throughout Lamoille County, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. It is a safe bully-free, drug-free zone, and is staffed by onsite coordinators Ben Neilsen and Amelia deNagy, along with volunteers from our church. Ben and Amelia have experience working with youth, especially those who are vulnerable or at the margins. A healthy meal is provided each time, thanks to donations of food and food cardsfrom our many community partners.  All youth of Lamoille County are invited to come and hang out with friends, play pool, ping pong, foosball, air hockey, or board games.  Activities and programs are also scheduled throughout the school year. Ben and Amelia are dedicated to the Community Youth Center being for and by youth. They consult with youth regularly about the activities and programs the youth enjoy.

“First Friday of Every Month” Youth Night

Thanks to a grant for the Green Mountain Fund of the Vermont Community Foundation, we are able to offer once a month gatherings for youth in middle school and high school from 7-10pm. Each night is themed. Pizza, snacks, music, dancing, games, and hanging out are enjoyed by all! Ben and Amelia staff these events, with volunteers from the Laraway School and Family Center of Lamoille County.

The overall coordinator of activities at the Community Youth Center is Marisa Laviola, Pastor of our church. If you would like to donate your time or your treasure to Youth Rocks, please contact Pastor Marisa at 888-2990.
