Rocks is the after-school program for youth in middle school and high school
throughout Lamoille County, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. It is a safe
bully-free, drug-free zone, and is staffed by onsite coordinators Ben Neilsen
and Amelia deNagy, along with volunteers from our church. Ben and Amelia have
experience working with youth, especially those who are vulnerable or at the
margins. A healthy meal is provided each time, thanks to donations of food and
food cardsfrom our many community partners.
All youth of Lamoille County are invited to come and hang out with
friends, play pool, ping pong, foosball, air hockey, or board games. Activities and programs are also scheduled
throughout the school year. Ben and Amelia are dedicated to the Community Youth
Center being for and by youth. They consult with youth regularly about the
activities and programs the youth enjoy.
