"We have established our mission focus so that we are known as the church in our community that supports and serves children, youth, and families"  Statement of the Executive Council, June 2011

A significant part of the mission of our church is to meet the needs of the community at large through various ministries.

Our main ministry is through our Youth Center that houses “Youth Rocks” the after school program and “Every First Friday Youth Night.”  Youth gatherings are for kids in middle school and high school in Lamoille County. It has two paid staff plus community volunteers from our church, Laraway School, and the Family Center.  The after school program meets Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and provides healthy meals, thanks to many community partners who donate food or food cards. The monthly Youth Night is possible through a grant from the Green Mountain Fund of the Vermont Community Foundation. The Youth Center is equipped with pool table, ping pong table, foosball, air hockey, and many board games. Electronic games are available, but youth are encouraged to interact with one another and not spend time on screens.

We also have a benevolence fund for families in need of food or gas cards, help with rent or utilities, or a winter coat.
We are beginning to focus more on the needs of the homeless and have started providing snack packs, personal hygiene items and will be starting to have breakfasts available certain days of the week, yet to be decided.
We provide families with clothing, blankets, and toys through our community partners the Family Center of Lamoille County and Clarina Howard Nichols Center.  We offer gently used clothing for minimal cost at our Rummage and Food Sale.  We also provide contact information for other agencies as needed. We donate non-perishable for to the food bank once a month.

Although most of our benevolences are thanks to the generosity of our congregants, we welcome donations from everyone who wishes to help with this vital ministry, especially during the winter months. Our goal is to help those we can and help as many as we are able. Please know that when you donate to our local mission effort you are truly helping many in this community who are in need.  We pray that we are able to make a difference in many lives.

Outreach to our community also includes providing space for various community groups to meet.  Right now these include: Overeaters Anonymous, the Boy Scouts,  Rocking Horse, The Family Center of Lamoille County, Lamoille Community ConnectiWe also provide aid for state, national and global needs through organizations such as Heifer International and through the United Church of Christ.  Every year our Sunday School children collect donations for the Heifer Project.  This project purchases animals to be used by communities around the world for self-sustaining lives.  on, and the supervisory unions. If you wish to use our space for a community group, call our office at 888-2225
