A significant part of the mission of our church is to meet the needs of the community at large through our benevolence fund and the efforts of outreach to our community. Donations received for our local benevolence fund are used in conjunction with the efforts of Communicty Action in Morrisville. Families in need who are beyond the means of Community Action may ask for additional assistance in the form of financial aid, gasoline purchases, or food purchases. Our goal is to help those we can and help as many as we are able.
We provide families with clothing, blankets, and toys through our community partners the Lamoille Family Center and Clarina Howard Nichols Center. We offer gently used clothing for minimal cost at our Rummage and Food Sale. We also provide contact information for other agencies as needed.
We donate non perishable food items to the Lamoille County Food Share. Items can be dropped off anytime to the food cart in our sanctuary.
Please know that when you donate to our local mission effort you are truly helping many in this community who are in need and the Mission Committee is doing its best to help wisely. We pray that we are able to make a difference in many lives.
Outreach to our community also includes providing space for various community groups to meet. These include:
Youth Rocks, a teen gathering after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 TO 6PM.
Community Youth Group on Mondays at 6:30pm
OA on Saturdays at 10am
Twice per month GATSA meetings on Mondays from 1-3pm.
Quarterly meetings of the Hunger Council of Lamoille Valley
We also provide meeting space for Easter Seals, The Clarina Howard Nichols Center, Rocking Horse, Baby Chat, and The Family Center of Lamoille County
If you wish to use our space for a community group, call our office at 888-2225
Mission and Outreach beyond our community
We also provide aid for state, national and global needs through organizations such as Heifer International and through the United Church of Christ. This past summer we filled five relief buckets for victims of tornadoes and flooding. This September we collected donations for the Vermont Relief effort for victims of Hurricane Irene. Every year our Sunday School children collect donations for the Heifer Project. This project purchases animals to be used by communities around the world for self sustaining lives.
